Luncheon Satellite

(Temporarily Suspended) FRIDAY CLUB SATELLITE Luncheons:  During the Covid-19 crisis our Luncheon Club Satellite meetings were suspended. All members were encouraged to attend our Monday evening meetings which have been held, weather-permitting and observing all necessary public health precautions, outdoors at Shelter #1 at Pen Park. If an outdoor meeting was not possible, we met on Monday evenings at 6 p.m. via Zoom video conferencing. See the club calendar highlights page for the latest information about all meetings and events.

To encourage those who can’t join us every Monday evening to serve, we now offer an alternate time to meet.  This group, called the “Luncheon Club Satellite,” consists of about 15 Charlottesville Kiwanians. They hold an informal luncheon meeting at 12:00 pm usually (but not always) on the first and third Friday of each month. (see the Club Calendar Highlights tab (under What We Do) for the exact location and agenda.)

Kiwanians from the luncheon group help out on Monday service work nights, join in to enjoy special events and activities, help on all volunteer projects, and develop and conduct service projects of their own. All the planning of our highly successful Independence Day 5K is done by Kiwanians from the “Luncheon Club Satellite,” with the rest of the club pitching in on race day.  Before the pandemic we were alternating meeting between Wegmans Market Cafe and the Timberwood Tap House, both located in the 5th Street Station Shopping Center. We are currently meeting at Wegmans on the outdoor patio, weather-permitting, or inside in the large dining area.

Luncheon Club Satellite welcomes prospective member to the meeting at The Pub in Wegmans Market Cafe.

Luncheon Club Satellite members enjoy meeting to plan service projects at Timberwood Tap House in 5th Street Station Shopping Center.
