MONDAY EVENING MEETINGS: During the Covid-19 Crisis our Monday evening meetings had been held, weather-permitting and observing all necessary public health precautions, outdoors at Shelter #1 at Pen Park. If an outdoor meeting was not possible, we met via Zoom video conferencing. Please see the club calendar highlights page (under What We Do) for the latest information about meetings and events.
As we get back to normal times, Kiwanis is now meeting on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Timberwood Grill,3311 Worth Crossing, Charlotesville VA 22911 across from Hollymead Town Center near Forest Lakes North. The first and third Mondays are speaker meetings. The second Monday is the monthly board meeting night and we meet on zoom or at Ben Hair Just Swim for Life Foundation office at 6 p.m. The fourth Mondays have been designated as “Service Work Night” at a different local agency each month at 6:30 p.m. The occasional fifth Monday is reserved for a Kiwanis Family social activity. Guests are cordially invited to share a meal with us and learn about opportunities to join us for volunteer service that contributes to the betterment of our community. Please see the Club Calendar Highlights tab (under What We Do) for the latest information about when and where we gather “to serve the children of the world.” Remember, you are never more than six days away from a Kiwanis event.
FRIDAY CLUB SATELLITE Luncheons: During the Covid-19 crisis our Luncheon Club Satellite meetings had been suspended. All members were encouraged to attend our Monday evening meetings which have been held, weather-permitting and observing all necessary public health precautions, outdoors at Shelter #1 at Pen Park. If an outdoor meeting was not possible, we met on Monday evenings at 6 p.m. via Zoom video conferencing. See the club calendar highlights page for the latest information about meetings and events.
To encourage those who can’t join us every Monday evening to serve, we now offer an alternate time to meet. This group, called the “Luncheon Club Satellite,” consists of about 15 Charlottesville Kiwanians. They hold an informal luncheon meeting at 12 p.m. usually (but not always) on the first and third Friday of each month. (Please see the Club CalendarHighlights tab (under What We Do) for the exact location and agenda.)

All members were encouraged to attend our Monday evening meetings which have been held, weather-permitting and observing all necessary public health precautions, outdoors at Shelter #1 at Pen Park. Interested in Volunteering? Looking to Get Involved in the Community? Want to Make New Connections? Kiwanis is bringing together young adults looking to create fellowship while making an impact in our local community and around the world. The group organizes two service opportunities each month and holds monthly socials usually on the second Thursday evening of each month, Former Key Clubbers and CKI members are especially encouraged to join us, but anyone looking for an opportunity to come together with this dynamic group should refer to the Club Calendar Highlights tab (under What We Do) for the location of the next meet-up or service activity.
Monday evening dinner starts at 6:30, then we have fifty-fifty and Happy Dollars, followed by brief club announcements, and then a program. We always finish by 8 p.m.
